Sally Prentice
Chief Executive Officer

Prior to joining Carers Network, Sally worked for Relate, Age UK London and The King’s Fund.  She has been a Cabinet Member in the London Borough of Lambeth, where she had responsibility for children and young people’s services, and is a former Governor of the Walcot Foundation.  She has an MSc in Grantmaking, Philanthropy and Social Investment from Bayes Business School at City, University of London. Projects

Trustees

Nadia Taylor – Chair

Nadia lives in Hammersmith and is a full-time carer for her parents, one of whom has a severe visual impairment and physical mobility difficulties and the other suffers from a myeloproliferative disorder and other conditions. Nadia graduated with a degree in Politics, French, German and International Relations, and has over seven years’ experience as a paralegal having worked as a licensing contracts manager within the legal department of a brand management company. She currently serves as an elected governor representative on the Children and Education Policy and Accountability Committee for Hammersmith & Fulham Council. Nadia is also the Chair of Healthwatch in Hammersmith and Fulham. 


Linda McHugh – Vice Chair

Linda has extensive experience of leading organisations and has been chief executive of six private sector companies. She is currently Chair of the Finance & Planning Committee of Westminster Cathedral and is a trustee or Board member of a number of other organisations, including Providence Row and Westminster Amalgamated Charity.  She was previously a member of the Parole Board for England and Wales, a Parole Commissioner for Northern Ireland and a member of the audit committee of the Law Society of England and Wales. She holds an MBA from INSEAD, the European business school, and has expertise in strategic planning, business development, finance and marketing.


Liz Adair

Liz is a qualified nurse with extensive senior management experience in the NHS, where she worked for over 32 years. She is the Director for Quality at Viapath Group LLP, a joint venture pathology services provider, where she is the lead for patient safety and quality standards. She undertook her nursing training at St Thomas’ and Guy’s Hospitals. Liz developed an interest in family mental health, qualifying as a mental health nurse and her clinical practice was predominately in child & adolescent mental health services in South East London.  Liz has carer responsibilities for members of her family and is passionate about delivering the highest possible standards of care to patients, their carers and their families.


Charles Adeniran 

Charles is a long-time resident of the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, and he was a full-time carer for his late mother who had dementia. He has real life experience of the issues faced by most carers: dealing with adult social care, the NHS, and care agencies. Charles has more than a decade’s worth of experience in the IT and telecommunications industry.


Punam Birly 

Punam is the Director of Global Employment Policies and Practices at Petrofac and a NED of the Independent Monitoring Authority which is an arm's length body of the Ministry of Justice. Punam is a solicitor and she was a partner at KPMG. She was head of Legal – Employment & Immigration at KPMG and her wider experience includes managing organisational change and helping clients to anticipate and respond to changes in the UK and global business environment. Punam has a keen interest in talent development and career counselling and is passionate about supporting carers.


U Hla Htay (Mr Htay) 

Htay has been supporting the work of carers since 2000, during and following his own experience of caring for his wife with dementia. He is a Carers UK carer ambassador and has extensive experience of representing carers in a range of arenas including the health service, GP surgeries and dementia care in the community. Htay regularly contributes to dementia research at University College London (UCL), King’s College London (KCL) and is a member of Brain for Dementia Research and Brain Tissue Committee at KCL and Newcastle University. He is also a Dementia Friends Champion and runs a regular dementia friend information session as well as being a Carer Council Member at CNWL NHS Mental Health Trust. 


Jen Nel – Treasurer

Jen is a commercially focused, strategic CFO and Non-Executive Director, with twenty years' experience across professional services and industry. Her strengths are in finance, strategy, due diligence and advisory across the health, government, manufacturing, financial services and retail sectors.  Jen is Group Finance Director of Schoen Clinic UK, a specialist Orthopaedic and Mental Health provide.   Before joining Schoen Clinic, she was CFO at Healthshare, a clinically led community-based Healthcare provider. Jen has also held leadership roles at KPMG Transaction Services and Healthcare Advisory. She is a chartered accountant originally from Cape Town and a keen triathlete.
