Working for Carers

Working for Carers is a London-wide project, led by Carers Trust, supports unpaid carers, aged 25 or over, to move closer to employment. To be eligible for the project you must be an unpaid carer or former carer, aged 25 and over, living in London, and not in any paid work.

Working for Carers aims to support carers who want to work by building confidence and skills, engaging with local employers to create opportunities for carers, helping employers be carer-friendly, and by highlighting the benefits of employing carers.

Carers can get free support in their local area, designed to meet their individual needs. This may include:

  • One-to-one support and advice with a dedicated Employment Personal Adviser
  • Group activities and training workshops
  • Support with writing CVs and interview techniques
  • Help with job-searching
  • Access to employment, volunteering and training opportunities.
